IIT Gandhinagar organized Blood Donation Camp to help cancer patients
Palaj: The Health Committee at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with The Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI), Ahmedabad and Raktdaata Federation, Ahmedabad on April 20, 2019. More than 180 students, faculty, staff and their family members generously and enthusiastically participated in this social drive.
As a result, this event with a noble cause broke all the previous records of IITGN Blood donation camps with total collection of 157 units of blood in one day. These invaluable gift will be provided to the needy cancer patients by GCRI free of cost.
Anshul Shivhare, Welfare Secretary and student of IITGN says “It was heartening to witness such a huge turn up from IITGN community for this social cause. Blood donation camp and many more health and awareness activities will be organized at IIT Gandhinagar in future as well to help the people in need.”
All donors were given an appreciation certificate.
