Webinar on ‘Retrospection of Museum and Conservation Professions in India’

 

Aligarh : An international webinar on ‘Retrospection of Museum and Conservation Professions in India’ of the Department of Museology, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in collaboration with the International Council of Museums (ICOM), India and International Council for Biodeterioration of Cultural Property (ICBCP) will take place on February 7 from 11 am to 6 pm.

The seven-hour long program includes the ‘Padma Shri O.P Agarwal Memorial Lecture’ on ‘Problems of Biodeterioration and Challenges in Preservation of Valuable Cultural Heritage’, invited talks on ‘Internship, Training, Placements Agencies and their Programs’, a panel discussion on ‘Retrospection of Museum and Conservation Profession’ and the Alumni Meet of the Department of Museology.

“The webinar will feature talks by AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor (Patron); the Chief Guest, Prof Amareswar Galla (UNESCO Chair on Inclusive Museums); Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof Wasim Ahmad (Co-Patron); Dr Virendra Nath (Former Chief Scientist, NBRI, Lucknow); Prof Ambika Patel (M S University, Vadodra) and Prof Abduraheem K (Chairman, Department of Museology)”, said Dr Danish Mahmood (Program Convener).
