Xebia Academy hosted Higher Education Summit X-Grad 2022
Gurugram : Xebia Academy, the education arm of the US-headquartered IT consultancy firm, Xebia Global, recently hosted the higher education summit, X-Grad 2022. Many education veterans participated in the virtual summit with Dr.Anil Sahastrabudhe, Chirman AICTE being the chief guest of the event. The summit revolved around hybrid learning model, role of assessment and evaluation in improving the educational experience and job-readiness of students and reimagining of the education system with the collaboration of industries in academia
Blended learning aspects involve a modern-day solution combining both face-to-face and virtual activities, as well as the type of education that allows students to include self-paced study, alongside classroom learning. However the rate at which pedagogy has evolved has resulted in a progressive transitioning to experiential learning with Hybrid education model, as evident by its incorporation in education vocabulary. In the shape of a hybrid education model, X-Grad 2022 provided insights into evolving learning trends by the best minds in the academia and industry realms.
The Summit hosted three panels. Each panel included Chancellors and Vice chancellors of eminent universities like Jagannath, North Cap, Jain University, Lovely professional university, Chandigarh University

Panelist highlighted upon providing 360 degree approach to today’s professionals for their holistic development, state of the art facilities amalgamated with modern day education facilities is required to create desired results in the ongoing digital era. Assessment and evaluation should not be restricted to marks and ranks rather it should aim at development of educational programs and improvement of their efficacies. It is necessary to unlock the potential of continual improvement in teaching and learning to give a clear insight on skill set of an individual so that one can see how much job ready that individual is.
Commenting on the need of Hybrid education Mr. Brijesh Kohli, director, Xebia Academy said; “The changing face of ed-tech has a breakthrough future in the hybrid education model that will take learning to the next level by providing a 360-degree professional development viewpoint. Online learning has been on the horizon for students who either needed to improve their academic result or wanted to pursue a course that wasn’t offered at their district schools. But Covid-19 speeded up the country’s need for online learning options and made us see the opportunity of this tool being available to all our students.”
Addressing the Summit Dr Sahastrabudhe stated” Digital education is a decade old subject , brought to the surface only during pandemic, Today the world is all about hybrid so let us move ahead and make the use of technology. AICTE has also been equally involved in promoting the subject, a lot of universities and institutions have undertaken video lectures, stimulation based laboratories have been formed wherever there has been need, skill development platforms have been established amongst other initiatives. AICTE along with the ministry has also come up with NEAT(National education alliance of technology),NDAR(National development of architecture) for connecting all the universities in one infrastructure and National education technology forums to guide the institutions on what kind of technology can be adopted. Apart from this there has been an equal focus on evaluation, as this helps to understand what has been promised, what has been delivered and what has ultimately been receive. Such summits are a great way to make ends meet.”
The Indian higher education system is fractured into too many silos, each with its own set of limitations which can be compensated and some of these gaps can be filled by using the industry approach to develop inter- and multi-disciplinary teaching-learning methodologies offering flexibility and credit-based recognition to courses.
