International Mother Language Day at AMU Girls’ School

 

Aligarh : Class X student, Zainab Hasan won the senior category online speech competition on ‘Role of Mother Tongue in Independence Struggle’ of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Girls’ School held to mark the ‘International Mother Language Day’.

Basra Hasan Siddiqui (Class XI) secured the second position, while Vanshika Chatarji (Class XI) and Rishita Varshney (Class X) shared the third prize.

Rutba Azeem (Class XII), Mantasha (Class XI) and Nausheen (Class IX) were given the respective first, second and third prizes in the senior group essay writing competition on ‘Role of Mother Tongue in Nation Building’. Zainab Siddiqui (Class IX) received the consolation prize.

Haram Maria (Class X) was declared the winner of the senior wing painting contest on ‘Matrabhasha’. Faiqua Muzaffar (Class X) finished second and Safoora Hafeez (Class X) secured third place. Bushra (Class IX) won the consolation prize.

In the junior category online speech competition on ‘Importance of Mother Tongue’, Madiha (Class Vll) and Aafreen (Class VI) were the joint winners with Natasha Gautam (Class VII) and Sukena Hasan (Class VII) in second place. Deeksha Singh (Class VII) and Deeksha (Class VI) finished third and Nameera Waseem (Class VII) was given the consolation prize.

Sumaiya Kainaat (Class VII), Insha Khurshid (Class VI), Mohtishim Arif (Class VII) and Ilma lntezar (Class VII) received the respective first, second, third and consolation prizes in the junior group essay contest on ‘Importance of Mother Tongue’.

Himanshi (Class VIII) won the junior category painting competition on ‘Matrabhasha’ in which Sania (Class VII) stood second and Bushra Farooq (Class VIII) finished third.

“School teachers, Javed Alam, Mohd Sadique, Nuzhat, Nahid Akbari, Atiya Parveen and Zeba Nawaz were the in-charges and judges of the various competitions,” said Amna Malik (School Principal).

She also delivered a speech on preserving native languages and the importance of mother tongue.

Vice Principal, Arshi Zafar Khan talked about the cultural and linguistic diversity of the Country and school teacher, Noor Afshan Usmani spoke on the role of mother tongue during the Freedom Struggle.
