World Engineering Day

ALIGARH  : Prof Saifur Rahman (IEEE President-elect; Founder Director, Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, USA interacted with the students and faculty at Aligarh Muslim University on the occasion of “World Engineering Day for Sustainable World”.

Prof. Rahman is also Director, Centre for Energy and the Global Environment and the Joseph R. Loring Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, USA)

Expressing his views on “Academia-Industry interaction in engineering”, Prof Rahman spoke on major challenges and scope in engineering in Indian and global scenarios. He also remembered his time at AMU when he visited the university in 2007 and shared his memories with the students.

He appreciated the efforts of the Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology and the IEEE student branch in promoting the industry-academia interaction in India.

Dr Mohammad Rihan (Vice-chair, IEEE UP Section and Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, AMU) and Mr Mohammad Zaid (Assistant Professor and Branch Counsellor IEEE Student Branch AMU) welcomed Prof Rahman.
