GDC Doda organizes an awareness campaign on waste management

Doda: An awareness campaign on waste management was organized by the Department of Environmental Sciences and Green Rangers Eco club of GDC Doda. The campaign was flagged off by Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal, Principal of the college. The students went around the market in residential and commercial areas of the Doda town. They interacted with the shopkeepers and general public and made them aware about the different waste management practices like segregation of waste, use of cloth bags etc. and posted posters depicting waste management on the walls of shops with the permission of owners. The event was supervised by the Dr. Sumit Kotwal, HoD Environmental Sciences, Prof. Akrity Parihar and Prof. Purnima Manhas (Assistant Professors in the Department of Environmental Sciences). The principal of the college also addressed the students and motivated them to follow these green practices at their homes so that these can be propagated in the society.
