PG College for women G-N holds cleanliness drive under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
JAMMU : Cadets of 1 JK Naval Unit NCC and students of Home Science Department of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government P G College for Women, Gandhi Nagar on Monday organized a cleanliness drive here on the campus under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The program was organized under the patronage of the College Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari. The principal said the main objective of holding such campaigns was not just to clean the surroundings, but to create awareness among the people on the need of maintaining cleanliness. She also said that cleanliness is most important for physical well-being and a healthy environment.
Over 30 Naval NCC Cadets and 50 students of the Home Science Department actively participated in an hour-long cleanliness drive. They cleaned the surroundings and lawn around the Botany Block and Home science Block of the college. The volunteers were having brooms in their hands, dust masks on their faces and a feeling of cleanliness in their hearts.
The Students cleaned the campus and raised the slogan ‘One step towards cleanliness’. The cadets also took oath to keep their home, college and surroundings clean.
The activity was guided by HOD Dr. Irvinder Kour and staff of Home science Department and ANO SLt. Dr. Neelima Gupta of Naval Unit NCC of the college.
