3-Day training programme commences at KVK Budgam

 

BUDGAM, MARCH 17: The three day capacity building training programme on “Role of Balanced Diet and Nutrition in Small Ruminants” was today inaugurated at KVK Budgam.

The programme is sponsored by the Ministry of Fisheries Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India.

Prof. Dil Mohammad Makdoomi, Director Extension SKUAST-Kashmir was the Chief Guest on the occasion. District Sheep Husbandry Officer Budgam, Dr Mohd Ashraf Baba, and Deputy Director Research, Disease Investigation Laboratory Nowshera, Deptt. Of Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, Dr Mohd Maroof Shah were the Guests of Honour.

A total of 40 participants from far-flung areas of Budgam participated in the said training programme.

During the programme, Prof. Dil Mohammad emphasized on the role of the Sheep Husbandry sector in enhancing the livelihood of the farming community and stressed on the need of scientific sheep rearing for doubling the farmers income.

Dr. M Maroof discussed the formation and promotion of FPOs in the Sheep Husbandry sector.

Dr. M Ashraf Baba held a detailed interaction with the participants and briefed them about various programmes and schemes of the Govt. in Sheep farming.

Earlier, Sr. Scientist and Head KVK Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad Dar welcomed the Guests and gave a brief overview of KVK activities. Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan, Training Coordinator of the programme conducted the proceedings of the inaugural function.

Alongside the inaugural function, Paddy Seed (SR-4) distribution programme among the farmers under FLD was also kick-started and the Chief Guest distributed seed among the farmers.
