University of Bremen: Start into spring with the language center

The Language Center of the Universities in the State of Bremen (SZHB) will soon be offering semester courses for 19 languages ​​again. They begin after Easter and last 15 weeks. The courses are also open to guest auditors and, according to current planning, will again take place in person.
Anyone who has always wanted to brush up on their knowledge of Polish or would like to learn a new language has come to the right place at the language center. From Arabic to Korean to Spanish – the range is large.
New in the program are beginner courses for Greek. At the moment it is planned that the language courses in the summer semester can take place in attendance, with a few exceptions.

Subject-specific courses and offers for native languages
The range of subject-related courses in English (technology, natural and social sciences, English as a business language) is particularly large, often combined with the possibility of acquiring a certificate for language levels B2 and/or C1. The Internet-based TOEFL iBT can also be taken again in the summer semester. Tailor-made preparatory courses are held for this purpose. The language of origin courses for Kurdish, Polish, Russian and Turkish are aimed at students who want to improve the language skills they have acquired in the family in an academic context and are free of charge for students of the University of Bremen.

Offers for employees and researchers
Courses in English and French are offered for employees from administration, technology or science. German courses are available for international guest researchers. A new two-day online workshop “English for teachers” is aimed at teachers from all four Bremen universities.

Opportunities for independent language learning and coaching
The tutor program supports independent language learning with individual tutoring. In the self-learning center in GW2, language cafés, grammar tutorials and advice on tapas online tandem placement are offered. The Writer’s Help Desk offers assistance with writing in English with individual advice by appointment. All these offers are free of charge for students of the University of Bremen.
