World TB Day observed at DTC Kishtwar
KISHTWAR : To commemorate the World Tuberculosis Day 2022, a programme was today organised here by District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC) Kishtwar under National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Kumar Sharma was the Chief Guest and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ravinder Singh Manhas was Guest of Honour.
Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kishtwar Dr. Parvez Iqbal Wani, BMO Kishtwar Dr. Sat Lal Manhas, BMO Chhatroo Dr. Guljabeen Ara, Senior Consultant Dr. Sanjay Parihar, Medical Officer Chhatroo Dr. Kanahaya Lal besides the nursing students, Teachers, Representatives of Information Department and staff of DTC were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reiterated the theme of this year’s World TB Day 2022 “Invest to End TB. Save Lives” and underlined the need to adopt an integrated approach to combat this deadly disease from society.
“It is need of the hour to work in unison to eradicate this disease from society as the world is also facing the threat posed by contagious COVID-19 infection” he said.
Earlier, Medical Superintendent District Hospital presented the welcome address and briefed about the various aspects of eliminating TB from the society. He also listed the achievement and work done by DTC Kishtwar for eliminating Tuberculosis disease in the district. He also highlighted various aspects of the disease and programmes initiated by the Government to eradicate it.
Senior Physician Consultant Dr. Sanjay Parihar, Students of Government ANMT School, Nursing College Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University Campus and Modern Institute of Para Medical Sciences also spoke at length about causes, symptoms, medical treatment and prevention of the Disease.
Later, mementos were presented to the best workers of DTC Kishtwar, volunteers and ASHA workers of Palmar, Bugarna, Duga, Dhar who played proactive role in the successful completion of Sub National Certification (SNC) Survey conducted from February 21, 2022 to March 13, 2022 in the district.
Besides, Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) and extremely Drug resistant survivors of TB were also felicitated on the occasion.
