ITMO: New Pumping Station To Be Installed as Part of ITMO Highpark Construction
Vodokanal of St. Petersburg (the city’s main water utilities enterprise – Ed.) has received a lease on a land lot in the Pushkinsky District of St. Petersburg along the Rekhkolovskoye Highway. This location will house the Alexandrovskaya water pumping station, which is necessary for the implementation of one of the city’s most critical strategic projects – the establishment of the research and education center ITMO Highpark. A decision to approve the lease was made during a session between Alexander Beglov, the Governor of St. Petersburg, and the members of the Government of St. Petersburg.
The Governor noted that the establishment of an engineering infrastructure for ITMO Highpark is a responsibility of St. Petersburg – and the city fulfills its obligations by gradually resolving all matters related to the allocation of land lots and construction.
In late 2021, the Vodokanal its plans to construct over 22 kilometers of water supply and over 19 kilometers of water disposal infrastructure (along the Kiyevskoye, Krasnoselskoye, and Rekhkolovskoye highways), as well as a sewage pumping station in the vicinity of the railway station Lesnoe.
Work on the installation of engineering infrastructure for ITMO Highpark is already underway. The first phase of construction of water supply and water disposal systems is expected to end by the end of the year. Then, the territory will undergo landscaping before the start of the second phase, which entails the construction of the Alexandrovskaya pumping station.
