Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions plans 1 Lakh Tree Plantation across UP in coming 30 days
New Delhi: Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions announced a Green Campaign involving massive tree plantation drive across network covering Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar and MP. This initiative, a part the Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), coincides with the onset of the rainy season in Northern India. The Group announced plantation of 100000 trees across its K-12, Pre-schools and B-schools in the next one month.
This tree planting initiative is a part of the Group’s vision to maintain a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. In a bid to achieve this, the schools within the Group have been participating in plantation initiatives, organic farming practices, and also composting programs in their districts.
A few schools within the Group have partnered with District Horticulture Departments to select trees suitable for their respective geographic locales, climatic conditions, and ecosystems. Trees planted for environmental benefits include shade giving trees, fruit bearing trees, and herbal trees. The Group has chosen to focus on planting trees that facilitate water harvesting and help in storing water. Seth Anandram Jaipuria Schools are collaborating with city authorities to explore specific avenues for taking the plantation drives to the next level.
The schools within the Group have involved students actively in the actual planting process. Students have planted trees while taking ownership. The trees planted by individual students have been allocated to their care; each student has adopted, nurtured and taken care of one tree that he or she has planted. This has created a sense of proprietorship, where students have been nurturing trees to become environmentally sensitive in the process. Jaipuria Group has also taken concrete steps to make sure that the trees planted in its various campuses survive and flourish over time.
Jaipuria Group is environmentally conscious and contributing its bit to protect the planet and ensure optimal use of existing natural resources. Seth Anandram Jaipuria Education Society runs 8 K-12 schools, 4 pre-schools, and two reputed management institutes in different parts of India, with a vision of empowering young minds from pre-nursery to post graduation level.
As part of its philanthropic initiatives, the group operates three public guest houses in Haridwar, Chitrakoot, Vrindavan and Seth Anandram Jaipuria Eye Hospital, Nawalgarh, Rajasthan.
Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Kanpur, one of the oldest K-12 schools of the Jaipuria Group, runs a special education program for underprivileged children in the afternoon, wherein they are provided with books and uniforms free of cost. The school has also achieved international acclaim for its contribution to the cause of the environment.
During the floods of Kerala in August 2018, Jaipuria Group took the initiative of helping flood victims by joining hands with GOONJ and CRY. It also made bulk donations to the Prime Minister Relief Fund.
Jaipuria Schools has coordinated with Dainik Jagaran to help students participate in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by Hon. Prime Minister. The schools also organize frequent training sessions on personal hygiene and women empowerment for economically weaker women.
