DHEW Rajouri organises awareness camps for Female Staff Members, Girl Students
RAJOURI : On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Vikas Kundal, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), under Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India today organised two awareness programmes one at Panorama Public School and the other at Happy Home School.
Dr. Anum Mirza (Women Welfare Officer, Rajouri) along with her staff members held a powerful session with girls regarding ‘Women Empowerment’.
In her speech, she highlighted various special rights of women i.e Right to Maintenance, Sec 354 D of IPC, Zero FIR, Equal Remuneration Act, Right to Dignity and Decency, Rights at Workplace, Right to free legal aid, Free Medical Facilities and provision of shelter homes under DV ACT of 2005, Right of private defence/ Self defence etc which mostly the females do not know.
Dr. Anum Mirza highlighted how educating women and letting them know their powers can holistically transform their pathetic predicament. She said that the Girls must know their rights and accept all the challenges. They will feel encouraged, when they shall be treated at par with Male counterparts. She further reiterated that, Women have all the capabilities to perform at their best.
The team of DHEW including Nazma Sheikh (District Co-ordinator) noted down all the queries of the participants and assured proper and timely disposal of their grievances.
