Ural Federal University: From Ecology to Figures: University to Teach Students to Manage Social Projects
Conscious consumption, ecology, youth cooperation, accessible education, digitalization – these are the topics of workshops of the pre-accelerated program “Personal efficiency and leadership in innovation,” which is being prepared for launch in the Ural Federal University.
“We will hold a series of events in which successful leaders and mentors from among the youth leaders of the university – winners of federal and regional programs – will create a favorable environment for the development of leadership abilities, as well as help to implement their own initiatives with the current challenges of society,” said the director of the Center for Educational Technologies and Staffing Support for Innovative Activities of Ural Federal University Elena Bespamyatnykh.
According to the organizers’ idea, the preaccelerator should result in the inclusion of student initiatives in the innovation activities of UrFU.
The organizers of the program plan to involve experts and mentors of the innovation infrastructure of Ural Federal University and partners of the ecosystem of youth support of the Sverdlovsk region – in particular, the regional fund to support entrepreneurship.
Besides student leaders, winners and participants of federal and regional programs – “The Best Social Project of the Year”, “Leaders of Russia”, “Digital Breakthrough” and others – in the field of social entrepreneurship are invited to participate, which, as conceived by the organizers, will increase the number of youth initiatives and projects.
The project aimed at developing competencies and experience of youth leaders and project teams of UrFU won the All-Russian contest of Rosmolodezh in the nomination “Your Move” – according to the results of the selection the university will receive 2.5 million rubles for its implementation. Only four projects of the university won.
“This is a special project for us, because UrFU received the right to implement it, in particular, because of our 18 students-finalists of the federal contest “Your Move” based on last year’s results. Some of the finalists were happy to join the project team. The members of the jury gave high marks – 289 points out of 300 possible,” says Evgeny Zafirov, head of the university’s Student Potential Development Department.
