DC Rajouri reviews implementation of PM Cares for children scheme

 

RAJOURI : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the PM CARES for Children scheme in the District.

The meeting was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, Kartar Singh; Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Khurshid; District Social Welfare officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhat, DIO, Narinder Kumar, AD FCS and CA, Arif Lone and Women Welfare officer,

At the outset, the District Social Welfare Officer informed that PM Cares for Children Scheme was launched by the Prime Minister of India on 29th May 2021 to provide comprehensive support to children who have lost both their parents or legal guardians or Adoptive Parents or Surviving Parents to the COVID-19 pandemic. This Scheme enables the well-being of such children through health insurance, empowers them through education, and equips them for self-sufficient existence with financial support.

While taking note of the identification of such children in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed the PO ICDS, DSWO, AD FCS and CA, MSK, OSC and CWC to work in close coordination for the identification of the children who were orphaned due to the coronavirus pandemic and are eligible to receive support under the PM CARES for Children scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the status of Special Assistance Scheme for Covid mortalities (SASCM/Saksham) to the families of victims.
