BYJU’S Education for All partners with Bharat Edtech to provide disadvantaged children with access to digital learning opportunities

With the aim to bridge the digital divide in education and mitigate learning loss among some of the most underserved communities in the country, BYJU’S Education for All has joined forces with Bharat EdTech Initiative (BEI). This partnership will positively empower over one million students across the nation by 2025 with BYJU’S high-quality digital tools and programmes.

By leveraging the synergy of education and technology, BYJU’S and BEI will bring the power of at-home, effective, equitable, accessible learning to students across classes 1 through 12.  Additionally, with the pandemic disrupting access to education, especially for girls around the country, this collaboration will also have a special focus on ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities for girl students.

Speaking on the partnership, Mansi Kasliwal, VP- Social Initiatives, BYJU’S, said, “Every child, irrespective of their socio-economic conditions, circumstances or gender deserves access to quality education and equal learning opportunities. The pandemic has caused a massive learning loss among students, especially girls and those from underprivileged backgrounds. At BYJU’S, we firmly believe that when you educate girls, you empower an entire generation.  This belief is mirrored in our BYJU’S Education for All initiative, where nearly 50% of beneficiaries are girls. We are thrilled to partner with Bharat EdTech Initiative in taking this effort forward and are confident that this partnership will help safeguard and empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds with high-quality, digital learning programmes.”

Rathish Balakrishnan, Co-founder & Managing Partner, Sattva Consulting, said, “Bharat EdTech Initiative was launched during the pandemic as a collective effort to bridge the learning loss for students, especially those from low-income households. Over the last eight months, we have successfully onboarded 117,000 students across 10 states to our partners’ EdTech platforms, one of them being BYJU’S’. By collaborating with the pioneer in the EdTech space, we are confident that with our shared interest, we will be able to impact over one million students by 2025.”

This partnership comes as a significant step in furthering BYJU’S flagship social impact initiative ‘Education for All’. Launched in 2020, the initiative aims at bringing about a positive systemic change to the education ecosystem. With a mission to empower 10 million underprivileged children by 2025, the initiative has already impacted 3.4 million children in the remotest corners of the country through 120+ NGOs across 26+ states and 340+ districts. Reinforcing its dedication to providing girls with an equal opportunity to learn, nearly 50% of the beneficiaries of BYJU’S Education for All programs are girls.
