Tata Power announces the National School Contest ‘Challenge of Climate Change’
Mumbai: Climate change poses a fundamental threat to the planet that needs to be urgently addressed. To give a momentum to the global action against climate change, Tata Power’s ‘Switch off to Switch on’ campaign announced ‘Challenge of Climate Change‘, a school competition to attract bright and powerful ideas for a better earth.
The national-level competition for all students of 4th to 12th class in India that will be conducted under the aegis of Tata Power Club Enerji, will be accepting blogs, videos and poster ideas which will not only help understand the challenge of climate change but also provide solutions that can be emulated for wider success across the country.
The competition will be judged by a jury comprising of renowned senior Advertising Professionals, Marketing Heads of FMCG brands, Academia & Renewable Industry Experts. It will have nine distinct heads for solution submissions that includes ideas to bring behavioral changes, clean commuting, sustainable food ecosystem, support climate change victims, energy conservation, and green energy, waste-to-wealth ideas, creating green spaces and supporting energy-conserving sharing economy.
Ms Shalini Singh, Chief – Corporate Communications & Sustainability, Tata Power, said “Since 2007, Tata Power Club Enerji has emerged as an effective medium to promote energy conservation to the larger population of consumers by making the young minds of tomorrow our messengers. This has not only raised significant awareness among elders, but has also created a new generation that is aware on vital subjects like climate change and resources conservation and makes a difference in their own way. Through this competition, we aim to invite new ideas and solutions.”
To encourage a wide participation, judges will declare 10 winning individuals or teams who will receive a guided tour of some of the world’s best Renewable Power projects and will be invited to attend a special talk by an industry expert on how renewables are changing the power industry outlook and helping fight climate change.
