Niti Aayog Sends Appreciation Letter to STEM Coordinator of Gram Vikas High School, Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Mr. Sameer Kumar Misra, working as a STEM Coordinator with Gram Vikas High School, Kankia, Odisha, has received a letter of appreciation from Mr. R. Ramanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, Additional Secretary, NITI Aayog, Government of India. The letter appreciated him for his unparalleled efforts in making ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ a great success.
The Mission Director, on behalf of NITI Aayog, congratulated Sameer for fostering
highest standard of academics, social, emotional and moral growth among the students.
The letter said that Sameer’s role has been of utmost significance in building leaders. The letter, describing Sameer’s contribution, notes that, “Without your support, the ATL success would not have created a paradigm shift, where children as young as 12 years of age, are being introduced to the world of technology, innovation and are experiencing a culturally different micro-environment in Indian Schools.”
Sameer has successfully set up ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ in Gram Vikas High School, Kankia with the help of ‘Niti Aayog, Government of India’ under its flagship program called ‘Atal Innovation Mission’. This School primarily constitutes tribal students from Ganjam and the adjoining districts of the States
This School has around five hundred students studying in it that primarily consists of children from the tribal communities of the State. Under the scheme, the School has been granted a fund of Rs.20 lacs for a period of five years. With the help of this money allocated by Niti Aayog, the School has established an ‘Atal Tinkering Lab’ that shall foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mind-set, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc.
