Ural Federal University: UrFU Student from Egypt Defended his PhD Thesis
On April 21, 2022, the Dissertation Council of the Russian State Research Center − Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of Federal Medical Biological Agency decided to award the PhD in Biology to Mohamed Hesham Mahmud Hamed in the specialty 1.5.1 “Radiobiology”. The topic of his thesis is “Dosimetric Evaluation of Promising Radiopharmaceuticals Based on 89Zr and 177Lu for Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy”.
Mohamed Hesham Mahmoud Hamed, an Egyptian citizen, graduated from the Master’s program at Al-Azhar University (Assiut, Egypt) with a degree in Experimental Nuclear Physics. He enrolled in PhD program at the Ural Federal University, where he has been working as a Research Engineer at the Department of Experimental Physics.
This is the first defense of a foreigner’s thesis at the Burnasyan Federal Medical and Biological Center. All members of the Dissertation Council, including 10 Doctors of Biology and 8 Doctors of Medicine highly appreciated the scientific work done and noted its importance for the implementation of the concept of radiobiology development in the Burnasyan Federal Medical and Biological Center and radiopharmacy in general.
