DC Reasi reviews implementation of District Skill development Plan
REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today convened a meeting of District Skill Committee and took a detailed review of the training being imparted to youth by Polytechnic, ITI, Social Welfare department, Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Agriculture department, Rural Self Employment training institute and National Rural Livelihood Mission Reasi .
The concerned departments gave a presentation on the skill/ trainings imparted under different schemes in the last financial year and the proposals for the current year.
Superintendent ITI informed that the Institute has been adopted by NHPC Salal Power Station, Jyotipuram and every year a good number of pass out trainees are selected under Apprenticeship Scheme in the project who are later adjusted in the different Institutions.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Principal Polytechnic Reasi to furnish the details of the meritorious pass out trainees, so that possibilities are explored to adjust them in the Private Companies engaged for Railways construction work in District Reasi.
The DC exhorted upon the Officers to implement the Skill Training Schemes in letter & spirit to benefit the maximum number of un-employed youth. She also directed the District Social Welfare Officer, Reasi to compile data of the persons with disabilities in the District to enroll them for imparting skill training and to make them self sustainable.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, General Manager DIC, District Social Welfare Officer, Director RSETI, District Manager SC/ST Corp, Principal Polytechnic, Superintendent ITI and other District Officers of the concerned departments.
