Dr. Karan Singh inaugurated the 5th edition of the World Parliament of Science, Religion and Philosophy 2019 at MIT World Peace University, Pune

Hyderabad: On the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhiji, the 5th World Parliament of Science, Religion and Philosophy 2019, was inaugurated by world-renowned philanthropist, poet, Sanskrit Scholar and former Union minister Padma Bhushan Dr. Karan Singh and Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad – UNESCO Chair Holder; Founder, MIT World Peace University, Pune along with renowned scientist Padma Bhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Eminent Indian computer scientist, IT leader and educationalist Dr. Vijay Bhatkar and Prof. Rahul V.Karad, Executive President, MIT-WPU and other dignitaries. The inauguration ceremony took place at the world’s largest dome philosopher Saint Shri Dnyaneshwara World Peace Prayer Hall, Loni Kalbhor, Pune, India.

The three-day event will have eight plenary sessions with the theme of ‘Role of Science, Religion and Philosophy for World Peace and well-being of Mankind’ from 2nd to 4th October 2019.

Post the inaugural session, the chief guest Padma Bhushan Dr. Karan Singh, Padma Bhushan Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar and Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad conferred the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize on Eminent Gandhian, Scholars, Philosophers and Thinkers, to Hon’ble Dr. Ramjee Singh, Former member of Parliament(Lok Sabha) and Hon’ble Dr. T.S. Devadoss, Former Director, Dr Radhakrishnan Instituite of Advance study in Philosophy, University of Madras in the august presence of Rahul V.Karad, Executive President, MIT-WPU and Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad, Executive President – MIT-ADT University, Loni along with the other dignitaries.

As the special guest of honour delivering the keynote speech Padma Bhushan Dr. Karan Singh empahsized on the need of creating and promoting Interfaith and Inter-religious movement for World Peace. Elaborating on the movement he said, “The most important source of mankind is an amalgamation of Science, Religion and Philosophy. MIT World Peace University has built this ‘World Peace Dome’ which I believe is the Taj Mahal of education; from where all of us can send across a strong message to the world and show the pathway to peaceful world. Acceptance to multiple path to the divine, relieving suffering, honouring gender equality, nurturing and protecting the natural environment are some of the key elements to create a successful interfaith movement.”

Speaking on the occasion Prof. Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad – UNESCO Chair Holder; Founder, MIT World Peace University, Pune, said “The knowledge of how to live life can be found through spirituality. From this platform of World Parliament we want to send a message of humanity and mankind to the entire world. This dome a symbol of world peace signifies Indian culture, traditions and philosophy. Our Upanishad preaches ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The World is one family) and we as Indians strongly believe in peace and harmony.”

On receiving the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize, Dr. Ramaji Singh said, “If the mankind is to be saved, then all the nuclear weapons in the universe needs to be thrown into the ocean. If we want peace in the world, then we have to follow the path given by Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj while holding on to spirituality. The current turbulent world needs Gandhi again. Gandhi-ji had said that if we don’t make a unified or common government for the whole world, then it is difficult for mankind to survive. All the people present can serve as peace messengers as there is no other option but peace to save this world.”

The other recipient of the Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize, Dr. T.S. Devadoss, Former Director, Dr Radhakrishnan Instituite of Advance study in Philosophy, University of Madras said’ “ Unification of all the religion is an important element to save the mankind. The message given by our Rashtrapita has essence of all the religions which has been protecting all the beings.”

Over the next two days the eight plenary sessions will see renowned leaders and speakers like Ex Loksabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Governor of Kerala Dr. Arif Mohamad Khan, American Doctor Scott Herriott, Renowned Journalist and Political Analyst Ved Pratap Vaidik, Indian Sanskrit scholar Padmashree Mohammed Hanif Khan Shastri, Ex Union Minister and Member of Parliament (LS) Dr. Satya Pal Singh, Spiritual Master and Santulan Meditation Shreeguru Balaji Tambe, Ex-police director Dr. Meera Borwankar among others, sharing their insight on various aspects of Religion, Science and Philosophy.

World Parliament of Science, Religion and Philosophy, is organized by MIT World Peace University (MIT-WPU) in association with World Peace Centre, Alandi, MAEER’s MIT Group of institutions and MIT ADT University.
