Session on IPR Awareness organised in CGC Landran
The Indian Patent Office, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Delhi in collaboration with ACIC-RISE department, CGC Landran organised an awareness session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
The keynote speaker Dr. Ashish Prabhat, Examiner of Patents and Designs, Indian Patent Office, Delhi, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, of the government of India (GoI), elaborated on the myriad aspects of the Indian Patent & Design Act. Dr. Prabhat enlightened the audience about the various stages of the patent filing process. The programme is a part of the GoI’s National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM), which aims to create IP awareness among students across the country thereby fostering the vision of creating an Atmanirbhar Bharat.
IPRs are a set of exclusive rights protected by law which are accorded to creators over their creations for a certain period of time. It empowers innovators/creators, by keeping their ideas/inventions unique, thereby preventing them from being copied. This provides them competitive advantage and business success.
