GGZSM organises Cycle Rally to commemorate World Bicycle Day
REASI: To commemorate World Bicycle Day, the NSS Unit of Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi, in collaboration with IQAC Cell, on Friday organized a Bicycle Rally under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
The principal of the College, Dr. Chander Shekhar was the chief patron of the event. Around 70 volunteers participated in the rally with great enthusiasm.
Dr Chander Shekhar flagged off the cycle rally from the College campus to District Hospital. The Cyclists, mostly NSS volunteers spread the message of environment conservation through slogans, placards, and posters.
While addressing the students, the Principal said that the world Bicycle Day would be an inspiration to many people in changing their lifestyles, and switching to cycling to stay fit and reduce pollution in the city. He added that the main objective of the program was to develop a culture of cycling for basic transportation, commutation, and strengthening physical and mental health.
Prof. Palvinder Kumari, NSS Nodal Officer also motivated the students to ride bicycles every day in order to save the environment and keep it clean and green. Prof. Kewal Krishan, convener of IQAC cell shared the benefits of riding a bicycle.
The Program was conducted by Prof. Palvinder Kumari, NSS Programme Officer, Prof. Kewal Krishan, Staff Secretary and Convenor of IQAC, along with Prof. Sunil Magotra, and Prof. Norin Akhtar for successfully organizing the event.
