Banjeet Kour, Balbir Singh secured 1st position in Intramural Cycling competition

UDHAMPUR : To mark World Bicycle Day, the Department of Sports Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur in collaboration with NSS wing organized an Intramural Cycling competition with the theme (Cycling for health and wellness) at college campus, here today.

The competition under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr) Monika Sharma.

The competition was organized following UGC guidelines, to enhance spirit of brotherhood and nationalism promote usage of cycling, promote healthy lifestyle and combat global warming (so that our future generations stay in peace at the planet) and unhealthy lifestyle.

Physical Director Dr Dinesh highlighted the advantages of cycling not just for maintaining health and wellness but also have had huge significance in combating multidimensional global issues ranging from environmental degradation, pollution etc.

In student’s category Banjeet Kaur of semester 6th, Neesha semester 6th and Kajal of semester 4th secured 1st, 2nd & 3rd place Students whereas amongst staff members Balbir Singh Local fund employee, Dr Dinesh Physical Director and Mohd. Younos LFE secured 1st, 2nd and third place respectively.

The competition was officiated by Sanjay Kumar Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Mushtaq Ahmed Assistant Professor of Hindi.
