Puneet Sagar Abhiyan launched

ALIGARH  : The 1/8 and 2/8 Company of 8 UP Battalion, National Cadet Corps (NCC), Aligarh Muslim University Unit commenced Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, which is a nationwide flagship programme of the National Cadet Corps, aimed at educating people to clean seashores, beaches and other water bodies, including rivers and lakes of plastic and other waste material.

Addressing the inaugural function of the six-day drive, the Commanding Officer 8 UP Battalion, Col RK Sagwan threw light on the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and urged the cadets to take an additional responsibility to create mass awareness for general cleanliness.

Coy Commander 1/8 Company, Lt Farooq A Dar and Coy Commander 2/8 Company, Lt Najaf Ali Khan highlighted the details of the six-day drive and instructed cadets to participate in all the events with zeal.

Subader Major Devi Singh, Nb Subedar Rajveer Singh, Senior Cadet Kuldeep Kumar, Abdul Mannan, Nisar and Ansar took part in the programme.
