Awareness programme on registration on e-Shram portal organised at Shopian
SHOPIAN : One-Day Mega Awareness Camp for registration of unorganized workers on e-Shram portal was organized today in Shopian by the Department of Labour in Collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Shopian and Imtiyaz Memorial Government Degree College Shopian.
CJM Shopian Justice Mohammad Iqbal Akhoon was chief guest on the occasion whereas Principal IGDC Shopian, Bashir Ahmad Dar and Secretary DLSA Shopian, Justice Ferooz Ahmad were the guest of honours.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate spoke on Child labour issues and its impacts and legal remedies available for the construction workers and stressed that the need of the hour is that much more attention be given towards education of children.
He stressed upon the audience for getting themselves registered with online e-Shram at Assistant Commissioner Labour’s office and avail the benefits of various government sponsored schemes.
Principal IMGDC also spoke on the occasion and threw light on the benefits of government sponsored schemes and significance of importance in bringing out children employed under hazardous activities under the purview of education.
Hundreds of unorganised workers, including street vendors and construction workers participated in the said awareness camp.
Officials of Labour department Shopian spoke in detail about the process of registration and post registration benefits which include under various Social Security schemes and welfare measures for unorganised workers.
Underlining the importance of registration of unorganised workers, the Labour Inspector gave details about the documents required for the purpose and stated that registration on e-Sharm portal.
He appealed to the participants to register in maximum numbers to get benefits under various social security schemes.
