Summer coaching camps for girl students
Aligarh: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Taekwondo Summer Coaching Camps of the Women’s College and Abdullah Hall for Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) resident and non-resident girl students concluded at the Women’s College Ground.
“This was an opportunity for all girl students with high running sports spirit. I am sure all the participants have made the best use of their summer vacations by channelising energies in sports activities”, said Prof Naima Khatoon (Principal, Women’s College) at the closing ceremony.
Attending the programme as the Chief Guest, Dr Jamil Ahmad (President Gymkhana Club and faculty member at the Department of Pharmacology) remarked: “Students are leaving the camps with memorable experiences. During the training, they immersed themselves in learning new and exciting sports skills and made new friends”.
Dr Ghazala Naheed (Provost, Abdullah Hall) pointed out: “Participations in these camps not only boost health and fitness but students also learn teamwork, problem-solving skills and critical thinking”.
Dr Nazia Khan (Incharge, Physical Education Section) delivered the welcome address and Mehwash Khan (Games Supervisor) extended the vote of thanks.
Umra Zaheer (Superintendent, Abdullah School) with faculty members distributed certificates to the participants; while Alia Hasan and Rafia Tabassum conducted the programme.
Sports coaches M Kamran Khan, Zaki Raza, Sardar Hussain, Sana Raza, Taskeen Zaheer, Asrar Ahmad, Iliyas Ahmad and Seema Zaitoon provided the participants with training in various sports.
