Ural Federal University: 6,000 Graduates Received Diplomas Simultaneously

The graduation ceremony of the Ural Federal University ended with a celebration on the square in front of the Main Building of the university. Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students gathered together here to receive their long-awaited diplomas and to throw their academic hats up as a sign of graduation.

“I am sure your student years will remain in your memory as a wonderful time. Today we graduate more than 6,000 professionals. You have a lot to learn, and the quality education you received at Ural Federal University will be an excellent base for you. Meanwhile, your university friends will be a reliable support in your life. We will always be glad to see you both as students and graduate students, and as partners of the university,” Victor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU, addressed to the graduates.

University partners and Evgeny Kuyvashev, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region, also congratulated the graduates. He presented diplomas to five graduates who especially distinguished themselves in different areas during their studies.

“During your studies you have gained maximum knowledge and made new friends. I am sure that the knowledge, skills and abilities you have gained will definitely be useful to you, the Sverdlovsk region and the whole country. I have no doubts that you will achieve everything that you have planned. Ekaterinburg is already by right the capital of students. Just think about it: 10% of the city’s residents are students,” said the governor.

During the event, the graduates also enjoyed a performance by a cover band, gift-giving and touching congratulations from their parents. Right on the stage, a hundred of the best graduates received their diplomas from the rector. They were awarded for their outstanding achievements in education, research, and social life.
