Somaiya Vidyavihar University Gets UGC Accreditation & AIU Membership
Mumbai, Somaiya Vidyavihar University has been accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC). As per the accreditation, Somaiya Vidyavihar University has been established by the Act of the State Legislature of Maharashtra as a Private University and is empowered to award degrees as specified under section 22 of the UGC Act through its main campus in regular mode. The name of the University has been included in the list of universities established as per section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The competent authority of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has also approved the grant of membership of AIU to Somaiya Vidyavihar University.
The university caters to diverse fields of education such as Arts & Humanities, Science & Technology, Engineering, Teacher Education, Research, Management, Commerce & Business Studies, Sports, Religion & Culture, and Entrepreneurship. The university constantly tries to be at par with the new changes taking place in the academic domain, hence the students are imparted with the best quality of education, thus aligning with the vision laid by the founder, Padma Bhushan Karamshi Jethabhai Somaiya – ‘Knowledge alone liberates’.
