Seminar on ‘Cooling Load Estimation for Buildings’
Aligarh : Adil Inam (Business Manager, Intercol, Bahrain) used the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards for building materials and the metabolic of occupants to explain the necessities for heating, ventilation and air conditioning of buildings.
He was delivering an expert lecture in the seminar on ‘Cooling Load Estimation for Buildings’ of the ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).
The expert speaker delineated thermal comfort, role of ASHRAE standards and calculation steps of cooling load and heating load.
He outlined details of cooling load estimation for different buildings such as schools, hospitals and cold storages among others and described parameters needed for cooling load estimation.
Adil also gave a presentation on calculation methods of cooling load and its analysis using Carrier’s Hourly Analysis Program (HAP).
Prof M Muzammil (Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering) explained how every building requires a different amount of heating, cooling, and ventilation for comfort and safety.
Dr Mohammad Asif (Faculty Advisor, ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter) spoke about the activities of ASHRAE AMU Student Chapter.
