Chemicals & Fertilizers Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya launches schemes for Strengthening Pharmaceuticals Industry
New Delhi: Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya today launched schemes for Strengthening Pharmaceuticals Industry in New Delhi with focus on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Clusters. The schemes are Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Promotion and development Scheme (PMDPS) and Assistance to Pharmaceutical Industries for Common Facilities Scheme. The scheme will address the issues of technology upgradation at both unit level and cluster level.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mandaviya said, the new scheme have many benefits that will go a long way in making the Indian Pharmaceutical Industry Aatmanirbhar, more resilient and future-ready. He said, government is committed to unlocking the enormous potential of the pharma industry. Dr Mandaviya said, the scheme will help the industry to enhance its quality, technology and infrastructure upgradation. He said, it will also encourage collaboration between various stakeholders for the overall development of the sector. The Minister streesed on the need to focus on research to strenghten the pharma sector. He said, Narendra Modi Government is not only pro-poor and pro-farmer, but also industry-friendly government.
The Minister said, the scheme will increase investment, encourage research and innovation and enable the industry to develop futuristic products. He said, the government is working relentlessly towards strengthening the Pharmaceutical industry.
