Srinagar Administration holds Workshop on Agnipath scheme at Zila Sainik Welfare Office
SRINAGAR : In order to raise awareness among youth regarding Agnipath scheme, a daylong workshop was held in Srinagar at Zila Sainik Welfare Office. The workshop focused on highlighting the written test, physical examination and other salient features of the Agnipath scheme. The session witnessed participation of youth from different parts of the district.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole participated in the Workshop as Chief Guest.
While, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, who is also the President Zila Sainik Welfare Board was the Guest of Honour at the occasion.
Addressing, the participants at the Workshop, the Div com highlighted the significance of the Agnipath scheme.
The Div com urged upon the youth to take part in the process of Agnipath scheme to contribute in nation building and its protection.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar in his speech said the Agnipath scheme would provide a good opportunity for budding youth to become Agniveers to serve in the armed forces and to promote a younger profile of the Armed Forces. He said it would bring about a transitional shift towards a more tech savvy and enthusiastic Armed Forces.
The DC said the Agniveers on completion of the four-year period will go to the society as disciplined, dynamic and responsible citizens. He further said that the Agnipath scheme will have a significant positive impact on society, and contribute greatly to nation
Senior Officers of Army and officials of Zila Sainik Welfare Office, Srinagar and large number of NCC cadets and youth were also present in the Workshop.
