Flinders University: New Academy paves international pathways to Flinders

Flinders University has launched a new international pathway model, building on its reputation as a world-leader in education innovation.

Called Flinders University Academy, it will be a game-changer, supporting international students to achieve their ambition to study at Flinders by streamlining the entry process for a seamless transition experience into their destination degree.

The Academy will offer diploma courses across the breadth of the University, with both standard and accelerated courses available. Pre-Masters programs will also be on offer, as will Foundation Studies and ELICOS programs.

Based at the University’s idyllic Bedford Park campus, teaching will occur across the network of Flinders campuses to help students become part of the University community from their very first days of study.

President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling says Flinders University Academy is focused on ensuring more students receive a bespoke pathway experience that accommodates their needs and provides the best chance for educational success.

‘Flinders University has continued to thrive despite the challenges of recent years, and I am pleased to say we are emerging stronger than ever before,’ says Professor Stirling.

‘With a proud reputation as an innovator in contemporary education and with exceptional student outcomes, Flinders University has understandably become a destination of choice for enterprising students who travel from around the world to study with us.’

Vice-President and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) Mr Sebastian Raneskold is thrilled to be elevating and expanding international offerings at Flinders at a globally opportune moment.

‘After two years of uncertainty and studying offshore, it is wonderful that we are once again able to have our international students back on campus, and the commencement of the Flinders University Academy is perfectly timed just as the appetite for studying internationally is on the rise,’ says Mr Raneskold.

‘Our international students are an integral part of our community and bring with them unique perspectives and a vibrancy that is pivotal in supporting the rich and engaging learning experience for which Flinders is renowned.’

‘The opening of Flinders University Academy creates a truly ‘Flinders’ pathway option for anyone who wishes to study with us. Not only that; it means students will be immersed in our university from day one, benefitting from the exceptional services we have across our campuses, familiar with our values, ethos and culture, and more ready than ever to enter their course of choice.’

Flinders University Academy marks the latest show of strength from the University, complementing its significant investments in future expansion, including construction of a new Health and Medical Research Building at the heart of its Flinders Village development, and magnified CBD presence in the state-of-the-art Festival Tower centrally located in the North Terrace government, business, and health precinct. Both developments are on track to commence operations in 2024.
