Free Health camps to mark ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
Aligarh : Doctors and postgraduate students of the Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College (AKTC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) provided the students and teachers of the Madarsa Faizan-e-Mustafa and residents of the Ahmad Nagar area in Aligarh with free medical advice, medicines and referrals for specialised treatments in a free Health Camp held to mark the Nation-wide ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations.
“More than 150 people were consulted and given free health care services in line with the ‘Hamara AYUSH Hamara Swasthya’ initiative of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), Ministry of AYUSH”, said Prof Mohd Anwar (Chairman, Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer).
He added: “Students, teachers and residents of the area were assessed for their nutritional status, growth rate and body mass index”.
Dr M Shoaib (Camp In-charge) counseled the patients on the importance of hand hygiene and urged them to eat healthy and clean food.
Dr M Saad A Khan and postgraduate students apprised the Ahmad Nagar residents about the various Government schemes for affordable health care.
Similarly, a free health camp for medical advice and referrals for specialised treatments of patients suffering with Breast Lump was also held at the Department of Jarahat, AKTC to observe the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
“Early detection is crucial for successful breast cancer treatment. Therefore, it is important to make people aware of the symptoms of this health problem”, said Prof Iqbal Aziz (Chairman, Department of Jarahat).
