J K Lakshmipat University concludes its 10-day Orientation program – Aarambh
Jaipur : While many universities organize a one-day orientation program for students to brief them about the program they have selected, the policies and methodology adopted by teachers, JK Lakshmipat Universities recently concluded its 10-day long orientation program. The newly admitted students were not only introduced to the universities policies, programs & infrastructure but they participated in a series of events which gave them a taste of an innovative and creative life they would be leading for the next few years.
JKLU ran a series of events like a photography workshop by Canon India, a creative workshop by former host of Art Attack – Mr Gaurav Juyal, a Theatre Workshop by Rang Mastaney, a Storytelling workshop along with energizing activities like yoga and Zumba. The main highlight of the program was hiking for which students went to the Nahargarh Trek route. On the last day, “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” RUN was organized in collaboration with Decathlon.
The valedictory address was given by entrepreneur, institution-builder, academic, executive, and philanthropist Prof Pramath Raj Sinha, who is also Founder & Trustee of Ashoka University. He said, “The four years that students spend at college are very valuable for preparing them for life. Thus, students must also take part in all activities which are not necessarily directly related to the course that they have chosen. Students need to take an interdisciplinary approach. They need to learn collaboration, innovation, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving. Such activities not only make them industry ready but also ready to face whatever life throws at them”.
The most memorable and innovative workshop organised was by Professor Manish Jain, Principal Coordinator of the Centre for Creative Learning, IIT Gandhinagar. He taught big concepts from small toys in an innovative session. He interacted with the students through a combination of mathematics and science along with many such unique concepts and also addressed their queries.
Prof Dheeraj Sanghi, Vice Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University welcomed the students into their new phase of life. He said, “Our main aim behind organizing a 10-day long orientation program was to encourage the students to take the first step towards innovation and critical thinking from day one. We are so glad that all these brainy yet creative and fun activities were liked by students and met with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. These activities are just a glimpse of the everyday life of the students at JKLU. The faculties here will not only teach you from the curriculum but would also make you industry ready through project-based learning & experiential learning. The innovative & creative ideas of students are always welcome here. We look forward to seeing your innovation and creativity”.
Program coordinator, Deepak Sogani enlightened the newly admitted students with a brief description of the university, which included the vision, mission, infrastructure and outline of the various programs along with the recent achievements of the university.
