University of Greenwich: Elevate Business skills at the University of Greenwich
A new business and management degree aimed at people who want to study around their busy lives is launching at the University of Greenwich.
The three-year BA in Business, Management and Leadership offers new and less experienced managers the chance to develop management skills and become effective business leaders.
Beginning in September, students will be on campus one day a week. Remaining study will take place online using bespoke teaching materials at a time to suit.
Programme leader Aaron Tan said: “We will be teaching practical alternatives to a final-year project, using simulations which give students practical experience. It’s about experiential rather than passive learning.
“This is in areas including, for example, management procurement and sales. This helps students learn an integrated approach, looking at how much to spend on wholesaling, marketing and stock. We will also run simulations in project and process management, as well as marketing.
“Also, this degree is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute at level five, so it is two qualifications in effect.”
Popular careers for business, management and leadership graduates include business management roles in the private, public, and voluntary sectors in large companies, SMEs, start-ups, social enterprises, and charities.
