Vice Chancellor releases ‘Strategic Human Resource Management, Text and Case Studies’
Aligarh: Professor Feza Tabassum Azmi’s ‘Strategic Human Resource Management, Text and Case Studies’ (Cambridge University Press), a book with practical applications, examples and cases useful for students and managers of human resources, was today released by the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Vice Chancellor, Professor Tariq Mansoor in a special function held at the Conference Hall of the Administrative Block.
Prof Feza, who teaches at the Department of Business Administration, AMU said, writing the book was an arduous process.
“The book started with brainstorming ideas on the subject matter and then completed the detailed outline,” said Prof Feza adding that she strove best for bringing out comprehensive and up-to-date text on Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) in the Indian context.
“I hope that the book will be received well in the country and internationally as it tries to bridge the gap existing in terms of the availability of a book that provides extensive coverage in the field,” she added.
Prof Feza pointed out that the preparation of the initial draft and then the review process took over an year.
At the release ceremony, Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor remarked that it is a gap filling book, which will benefit the undergraduate, postgraduate and Phd students.
Prof Mansoor pointed out that he intends to implement the SHRM ideas of the book into the University administration for rationalisation of staff.
“Cambridge University Press is one of the most prestigious publications and I m sure that it would have required a very hard work to write this book,” said the Vice Chancellor.
Prof Valeed A Ansari, Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Research pointed out that it is not an easy task to write a text book.
“I am sure Prof Feza invested everything into creating an important piece of work and devoted time while keeping the audience in view,” said Prof Valeed emphasising that Prof Feza’s book is very reader friendly for a wider acceptance.
Prof Parvaiz Talib, Chairman, Department of Business Administration said that he had known Prof Feza since her student life and also that she always had the potential to author an important book.
“Prof Feza’s book provides with an academically rigorous study and the case studies cited in the book are from across the globe to appeal a large audience,” he said.
