AMU North Zone Cricket Tournament: CSJM, PU, JHU, BGSBU and GGIU register wins

Aligarh: Cricket is a game of great uncertainties as Kurushetra University (KUK) that registered two convincing victories could not chase a small total of 107 and lost to Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj,University (CSJM, Kanpur) by 18 runs at Willingdon Pavilion, AMU on day seventh of the North Zone Cricket tournament.

Abhivan the strike bowler of CSJMU did justice to the new ball and ripped through the highly rated KUK batting taking 4 wickets for just 9 runs , KUK could score only 89 runs loosing 9 wickets in 20 over. For KUK batsman Saurav with 49 runs put some resistance.

At same venue in a low scoring match, Punjab University, Chandigarh defeated Choudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa by 7 wickets. CDLU batting first could only manage only 64 runs on the score board and were all out in just 16.3 over, which PU easily achieved losing 3 wickets in just 8.4 over. Mohd Danish finished with best match figure of 3 for 5.

At athletics? ground in a closed fight match Jamia Hamdard University (Delhi), defeated Manav Rachna University (Faridabad) by 5 wickets. The star for JMU victory was Siddhart who kept his nerves in chasing 112 and hit a winning shot in 19th over, remaining 36 not out. The bowler Ojas was another contributor to the team, who finished with impressive figure of 4 for 13.

For MRU, batsman Manav played a methodical inning of 44 runs to give some respectable total to his team.

The second match at athletics? ground was a low scoring match, which Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU, Rajouri) won by defeating SRM University (Delhi) by 4 wickets.

Earlier batting first SRMU scored 94 runs losing 8 wickets in stipulated 20 over which was easily chased by BGSBU in just 17 over losing 6 wickets.

At 10+2 ground, Guru Govind Indraprast University, Delhi defeated AMITY University, Haryana by 8 wickets. Batting slowly AMITY could manage only 63 run which GGIU achieved by losing just 2 wickets in 9.1 over.
