Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan commences in Samba
DC, SSP participate in awareness campaigns against drug abuse; administer pledge to participants
SAMBA : Month long Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan commenced in Samba today with multifarious activities and awareness campaigns held on day one throughout the district.
While participating in the Pledge taking ceremony at conference hall Samba, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Anuradha Gupta along with SSP Abhishek Mahajan and other senior officers informed administration samba has formulated a detailed month long action plan to create awareness on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan through various activities.
Earlier, a pledge taking ceremony was held in all the district offices including Drug Controller office, Information office, AYUSH office, as well as in block offices to stay away from drugs and live a happy life.
In schools, the pledge taking ceremony on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organized to sensitize students about the ill effects of drugs and create awareness in the society about Drug Abuse and its hazardous effects on the society.
A special pledge taking ceremony was organized at District Hospital Samba by the department of Health and participants including Medical staff took pledge to fight against Drug Abuse.
Department of excise and taxation Samba also carried out special inspections and laid nakkas on national Highway near Vijaypur and numerous vehicles were physically checked. “Special stress and focus was on vehicles of other states to apprehend objectionable items under JK Excise act and NDPS ACT” informed the official.
Similar activities to create awareness on month long Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Samba were also carried out in colleges, private institutions, associations and NGOs.
