Indian diaspora in Beijing celebrates ‘Ganesh Chaturthi’ with traditional fervor
Indian Community in Beijing celebrated the Ganesh Chaturthi with traditional fervour at the Indian Embassy today. India’s Ambassador to China Pradeep Kumar Rawat and Madam Shruti Rawat participated in the celebrations along with hundreds of diaspora members, Chinese friends and diplomats from Indian embassy and other countries.
Indian diaspora under the auspices of ‘Beijing Marathi Mitra Mandal’ presented various cultural programs and brought to the life the glimpses of the festival in Beijing. In a true celebration of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, diaspora members from various states of India participated in the prog enthusiastically and participated in the pooja which was conducted in a traditional way. A skit based on Chhatrapati Shivaji was also presented by the children which got huge applause.
On the occasion, Ambassador Pradeep Rawat recalled the significance of ‘Ganesh Festival’ in channelizing the energy of the fellow countrymen to achieve a goal and urged the diaspora members to work for the further development of our country and the society.
