Korea Maritime & Ocean University: Signed a business agreement with TS Co., Ltd. for ‘nurturing excellent talent for future ships’

Woori University and TSSP Co. , Ltd. ( CEO Shin Sung-min ) have signed a business agreement to foster outstanding talents in the field of future ships such as eco- friendly and digital ships . TSP is a global company that engages in omnidirectional business such as production , assembly , mounting and after-sales service of marine diesel engine parts , domestic and foreign land and offshore power generation and defense industries .



The two organizations held a business agreement ceremony at the university headquarters on the 2nd and signed an agreement with TS as a new sponsor in the Future Shipbuilding Talent Development Support Association . According to the agreement, TP will provide a total of 60 million won , 20 million won annually for the next three years .



The donation is provided in the form of special scholarships to students of the ‘ School of Maritime Artificial Intelligence and Security ‘ , a department prepared to meet the needs of experts in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in response to the 4th industrial revolution and the advent of advanced ships . In the case of undergraduate students, all the first-year students and half of the second- to fourth-year students receive full scholarships thanks to professional education in related fields as well as the continuous support of the Future Vessel Talent Development Support Association .



Shin Sung-min, CEO of TSSP, said, “ Our TS and Korea Maritime University have something in common in that they have played a major role in making Korea a maritime powerhouse . ” said .



President Doh Do-hee said, “ At this time , when the importance of cyber security on ships is growing, today’s agreement has great significance . ” We will do our best to nurture and produce excellent talents who will be responsible for the future ship sector, ” he said .



On the other hand, the Future Vessel Excellent Talent Development Support Association is a support organization established by a number of related organizations in the maritime industry . The purpose of this year is to provide special scholarships to students of the Department of Maritime Artificial Intelligence and Security, which was established this year , and to nurture outstanding talents in the shipping field by creating a high-quality educational environment .
