The lecture, fourth in series, was held at the campus and focused on ‘How to Determine Success for Entrepreneurs’.
EDII lost its founder Padma Shri Dr. V. G. Patel on April 4th 2019. To commemorate Dr. Patel’s great work in the field of entrepreneurship, the Institute started an annual lecture series in 2019. Recognized by the entrepreneurship fraternity as the ‘Pioneer of Entrepreneurship Movement,’ Dr. V. G. Patel committed himself to propagating entrepreneurship within India and globally. Not only did he succeed in establishing the credibility of his belief across India, but also went on to establish the National Resource Institute, EDII, in 1983.
Addressing the audience, Dr. J.M. Vyas, said, “Be it in business or life, disciplining the mind to process every situation and outcome, is of utmost importance. Happiness and success are a state of mind, and no matter what the situation is, if the mind learns to act with objectivity, insight and wisdom, it will always devise ways to perceive situations of conflicts and failures in such a way that the state of happiness for the individual does not get affected. The goals we set and the choices we make should be well evaluated as an individual or an entrepreneur; and our 100 percent efforts must go in. Whatever are the results of our efforts, an emotionally mature and rational mind will always remain unaffected.”
Dr. Sunil Shukla paid tribute to Late Dr. V.G. Patel recalling Dr. Patel’s exceptional contribution to economic development of the nation by introducing and promoting the concept of entrepreneurship. He stressed on the importance of entrepreneurship and said, “Entrepreneurs are the future of the country; they are the torch bearers of inventive thinking, determination and perseverance for the GenNext. And hence, the onus of nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit and excellence falls on our shoulders. The institutions and stalwarts of society can give wings to their entrepreneurial ambition. In carving out a path for themselves, our entrepreneurship aspirants must learn certain rules of the game so that they ease cross the deterrents.”
