Union Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs Shri Arjun Ram Meghawal releases five books focused on Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji authored/edited/translated by the faculty of Central University of Punjab

Bathinda :  Union Minister of State for Culture and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghawal, released 11 books focused on the life, philosophy and teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, published by the Indira Gandhi National Centre of Arts (IGNCA), during a programme held in New Delhi. Of these eleven books, the authors/editors/translators of the above five books belong to the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda.

From the above five books, three books entitled Bharatiya Darshan Di Parampara te Guru Nanak VaniJanam Saakhi Parampara vich Guru Nanak Darshan; and Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji da Adhyatm were authored by Prof. Jagbir Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, CUPB; Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu (Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Chair Professor) and Dr. Lakhvir Lezia (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Punjabi, CUPB) respectively. The other two books include one translated book, Sant Parampara te Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and one edited book entitled Manavta ke Rakshak. Both these books were edited and translated by Dr. Lakhvir Lezia.

The names of other authors whose books got released during the event are Dr. Ratan Sharda, Shri Rajan Khanna, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Dr. Amanpreet Singh Gill, Dr. Dharam Singh, Dr. G.M. Nayyer, Shri N. Muthyu Mohan and Dr. S.K. Deveshwar.

While sharing the details of the event, Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu and Dr. Lakhvir Lezia informed the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari that IGNCA will circulate these books across the country and abroad to spread the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev to enrich humanity.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated the authors of the above books for this accomplishment that brought laurels to the university. He stated that the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will always inspire us to live life on the principles of naam japo, kirat karo and vand chhako and follow the path of truth, compassion, contentment and love. He added that the above books will contribute to disseminating the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in society for the welfare of humanity.

  1. Bharatiya Darshan Di Parampara te Guru Nanak Vani authored by Prof. Jagbir Singh

Dr. Jagbir Singh is a scholar of Gurbani, Folklore, Fiction, Literary Theory, Religious and Civilizational Studies. In this book, he has made a scholarly analysis of the verses of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and highlighted their role in promoting the ancient values of Indian Knowledge System. The book will stand as a milestone in Indian academics.

  1. Janam Saakhi Parampara vich Guru Nanak Darshan, authored by Prof. Harpal Singh Pannu

In his book, Dr. Harpal Singh Pannu redefined the Sakhi Parampra of Sri Guru Nanak Philosophy, which has been neglected by us until now. The Sakhi not only contains the life details of the Guru but also the new expansion of Bani and the fascinating details of the mysterious journey of the Guru.

  1. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji da Adhyatm, authored by Dr. Lakhvir Lezia

In this book, Guru Sahib explained the philosophy of Dharma and Karma in the Tribeni Sutra, which represents labour, chanting and distribution (kirat karo, naam japo, vand chhako).

  1. Sant Parampara te Sri Guru Nanak Dev, authored by Dr. Kishan Gopal and translated by Dr. Lakhvir Lezia

This book highlights the spirituality aspect of people of India. The portion of this book which relates to Das Sikh Guru Parampara is translated by Dr. Lakhvir Kaur Lezia.

  1. Manavta ke Rakshak, a book edited by Dr. Lakhvir Lezia

This book contains the articles of eminent scholars on the life philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which highlight the Guru Sahib’s common discourse of Sarab Sanjhi Valata (companionship of mankind) and Sarbat Da Bhala (welfare for all).
