Re Enactus H.R. College wins national award for best social initiative for women empowerment in ‘Bhavishya Bharat’

Mumbai: The Enactus Chapter of H.R. College, which is a student body within the institution and registered
chapter of Enactus International, participated in ‘Bhavishya Bharat’, which is a national level competition for
social initiatives on 14th September 2022 and organized by Nagindas Khandwala College. The competition saw
the participation of 186 colleges from across the country. The members of Enactus H.R. College presented
their flagship projects ‘Inaayat’ and ‘Aajeevika’, which heavily impressed the judges for the program and lead
to them winning the national award for best social initiative for women empowerment. The delegation won a
trophy, cash prize and certificate for the projects conducted by it.
Inaayat is a flagship social entrepreneurship project of Enactus H.R. College where rural women are employed
to stitch reusable sanitary kits that are marketed by the student body with all proceedings directly going to the
women. Similarly, Aajeevika is another initiative taken by the student body where rural women stitch
creatively styled tote bags that are marketed by the student body, with all income from the project going
directly to the employed women so that they can sustain their livelihood.
Prof. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Principal of H.R. college said, “Social entrepreneurship is an important part of
our institution, activities conducted by Enactus HR College has boosted the income of impoverished rural
women who need money to sustain their livelihood. It is with great pride I can say that Enactus HR College is
showing the whole country what H.R. College is capable of. All student bodies in our institution are regularly
encouraged to conduct social entrepreneurship activities so that we can give back to society. As an
educational institution we endeavor to boost the social empathy of our students and make them grow into
charitable members of society”.
