AISECT Group to organize Vishwarang Pustak Yatra, India’s biggest, one-of-its-kind awareness campaign about books
India’s biggest awareness campaign about books the Vishwarang Pustak Yatra will be organized by AISECT Group of Universities to spread awareness among Indian Youth about the culture of reading, sharing thoughts & discussion.
The campaign will be spreading the joy of reading by reaching out to the students, parents and teachers through this unique initiative. Vishwarang Pustak Yatra is a campaign where a moving library will connect with students, parents, schools, colleges & universities in 4 states i.e Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Jharkhand where they can read, donate and share the experience with their friends and family. The book donation drive by Vishwarang Pustak Yatra also aims to motivate people to donate books to children who do not have access to quality books and regular libraries.
This edition of Vishwarang Pustak Yatra will have a total of 11 Yatras between September 22nd to 30th out of which, 7 will be held in Madhya Pradesh –Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Rewa, Raisen, two in Chhattisgarh – Raipur, Bilaspur, one in Bihar – Vaishali, one in Jharkhand – Hazaribagh. Starting from these cities the moving library will cover around 7-8 nearby districts. Through this initiative, the AISECT group also aims to collaborate and restore old libraries, which have a wealth of unique books and are a site of knowledge.
Vishwarang Pustak Yatra Caravan can be spotted at prime locations across selected districts in the rural and semi-urban areas of India by providing a window to books across a host of genres and renowned authors.
Vishwarang Pustak Yatra will focus on book donations as a primary goal, as a part of this initiative AISECT Group aims to cover 4 states, 100 districts and 200 blocks covering 15000 km distance in total. The running library has books across genres and subjects of interest that people can access with ease. The initiative will provide a platform for local writers and budding talent in the literature space by recognizing their talent and paving way for future opportunities. As a part of the initiative, painting, debate and slogan-making competitions will be organized in schools, in addition to exciting social media contests.

With an overarching tie to the ‘Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Vishwarang Pustak Yatra aims to bring to the forefront the unsung heroes of India, be it scientists, writers, historians and even freedom fighters who have played an integral role in bringing Indian culture and heritage to the world map. One of the key aims of Vishwarang Pustak Yatra is also to inculcate the habit of book donation and encourage people to help needy children The 11-day extravaganza will be culminated in Bhopal at Rabindra Bhawan on 30th September amidst great fanfare and an enthralling performance by folk singer, Malini Awasthi. The event will go through Patna, Bihar; Bilaspur, CG; Hazaribag, Jharkhand before culminating.
