AP HOSTELS & RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS TO RECIEVE A MAJOR ‘NADU–NEDU’ FACELIFT

Amaravati : On 10th August 2022, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reviewed the existing infrastructure facilities as well as the requirements of Welfare Hostels and Residential Institutions. He directed to design & implement Nadu – Nedu (NN2) program in Hostels and Residential Schools. On Thursday, the officials briefed the CM that a total of 3013 hostels and residential schools have been identified. The works will be taken up under phases wise.

The CM directed the officials to appoint special officers to supervise the management of Residential schools and hostels. Similarly, 2 MEOs will be appointed for supervision, taking mandal as a unit. The CM further asked the officials to map the government hostels/residential schools with Village clinics and PHCs. He asked to ensure regular visit to the hostels and monitor the health conditions of the students.

Further moving to Gorumudda scheme, CM directed the officials to improve the quality of meals in all government hostels/residential schools. The CM reiterated that the food provided to the students in the hostels should be of the highest quality. The maintenance of sanitation and hygiene in the hostels, as well as the maintenance of the infrastructure should be thoroughly monitored, CM said.
