King’s College London: IoPPN welcomes new students – and King’s mascot Reggie the Lion!
At the start of welcome week, the IoPPN launched new @YourIoPPN social media channels, a hub for IoPPN students with the aim of building a thriving online student community. The Twitter and Instagram channels now share student events, opportunities, wellbeing resources, and academic support, as well as top tips from fellow students.
This week, Denmark Hill campus was buzzing for the first in-person welcome week since the pandemic. There was a diverse range of events and activities, including meet-ups for international, mature learners, LGBTQ+ and first in family students. Our King’s mascot, Reggie the Lion, was on hand to welcome everyone as well as enjoying a snack at the ice cream social!

Studying at King’s IoPPN means joining Europe’s largest centre for research and education in this field. King’s College London is ranked 4th in the UK for Psychology (Times Complete University Guide 2023) and is one of the world’s leading centres for research and education in Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience.
The 2022 National Student Survey and King’s Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey results showed that IoPPN undergraduate and postgraduate taught (PGT) students report high satisfaction with the resources, teaching, and learning provided at the Institute – with the undergraduate courses being ranked 4th highest for psychology student satisfaction in the Russell Group.
With student mental health and well-being at the centre of the strategic vision, King’s remains an exceptional institution committed to improving the student experience and continues to work towards making a positive impact for future King’s students.
