District Election Officer Rajouri Launches SVEEP Awareness Van

RAJOURI: To sensitise the people, especially youth attaining the qualifying age of 18 years to register themselves as the electorate , the District Election Officer Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, today flagged off the “SVEEP Van” here from Deputy Commissioner Office Complex.

 

Among the others, Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Pawan Parihar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kalakote, Krishan Lal; Deputy District Election Officer Rajouri, Babu Ram Tandan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Imran Kataria; District Information Officer, Narinder Kumar and Media persons were present at the event.

 

The SVEEP Awareness Van would travel throughout the district covering all the five constituencies to motivate and generate awareness among the voters for the enrollment and casting of votes. The van is equipped with a Public address system as well as banners regarding the special summary revision.

 

 

Deputy District Election Officer, Rajouri informed that the special SVEEP Awareness Van has been launched for instilling more energy in the ongoing SVEEP campaign for special summary revision and in the final phase elicit greater electoral registration. “It is imperative to create mass awareness of the need for greater electoral participation for a stronger democracy” he added.

 

He further informed that the Booth level Officers are visiting door to door as a part of Special Summary Revision-2022; however, the BLO shall sit at their respective booth level Offices on the special campaign days already notified by the Election Department.

 

The District Election Officer urged the media persons to create awareness about SSR and ensure registration of their close relatives/friends/neighbors who have attained the age of 18 years or going to attain the age of 18 years as per the qualifying date.

 

Under this SVEEP Plan, the target is to ensure systematic enrolment of qualified voters and ensure maximum participation of already enrolled voters, and urged the youth who have attained the age of 18 years or above and even those who were not 18 yet but would be on 01-10-2022 to get themselves registered in electoral roll”, added DEO.

 

 

Besides special camps and awareness camps are being organized throughout the district under special summary revision to motivate, aware, and enroll the new voters who have attained the age of 18 years on the qualifying date.
