On September 28-30, UrFU is hosting the All-Russian Psychological Forum and VII Congress of the Russian Psychological Society. Over 700 specialists from across the country take part in the event: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Grozny, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Elista, Kazan, Ekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and others. Sections are held in 46 areas. At open lectures, round tables, and sessions, psychologists discuss research on age, military, clinical, cognitive, cultural-historical and other types of psychology, talk about psychogenetics, cyberpsychology, psychological support of the pandemic Covid-19, psychology of well-being and work and other aspects.

According to Yury Zinchenko, President of the Russian Psychological Society and Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Moscow State University, the forum is of particular importance under conditions of societal transformation and geopolitical change. At a time when the help of psychologists is in demand in finding ways to improve the quality of life, satisfaction with work and life in the regions, and the preservation and strengthening of mental well-being and security.

Victor Koksharov, Rector of the UrFU, agreed with the psychologist and noted that in periods of change it is essential to maintain a healthy mental state for everyone.

“We know that people do not like changes, they are afraid of unexpectedness. In order to encourage a desire to improve, scientists at our university are working to ensure that everyone can find his or her place in life. This is important, because the sense of subjective well-being is of great importance for the individual and for the successful functioning of society as a whole. Subjective well-being affects both health, life productivity, professional status, self-education, and economic indicators of the country,” Victor Koksharov explained.

The forum is attended by representatives of the scientific community, as well as practitioners: psychologists of education, law enforcement agencies, health, sports, social services, child talent development centers, psychologists working in enterprises.
