Aon Hewitt and IIM Bangalore partner to develop Next-Gen CHROs for India Inc.

New Delhi: Aon Hewitt, the global talent, retirement and health business of Aon plc (NYSE: AON) and IIM Bangalore, India’s premier management school that builds ‘leaders through holistic, transformative and innovative education, today announced the ‘Next Generation CHROs’ programme that aims to build HR leaders who drive business outcomes.

With sweeping workforce changes, HR is expected to transform itself to engage with multiple generations through innovative digital gateways. It’s also the time when CEOs are expecting the CHRO to emerge as a true partner and help develop a common agenda across C-suite peers. In this VUCA world, a slew of factors can affect a company’s financial outlook. HR leaders can help navigate this change if they fully immerse themselves in the business and align their function with organization strategy.

Professor R. Srinivasan, Chairperson, Executive Education Programmes at IIM Bangalore, said: “CHROs are critical stakeholders in defining a firm’s strategy. However, there is a glaring gap in the expectations
of business from CHROs and capabilities of candidates in the pipeline, especially those from within HR. The Next-Generation CHROs programme will help bridge that gap.”

The partnership brings together best-in-class academicians and leading business advisors. The programme focuses on preparing for future readiness, connecting business with HR, driving HR transformation and shaping the CHRO agenda. Throughout the 6-month journey, senior Aon Hewitt practitioners will mentor participants to create a transformative impact in their organization’s HR function.

Sandeep Chaudhary, CEO, Aon Hewitt India, said: “When we asked CHROs on the gaps they felt in their capability when they first took on the position, business knowledge emerged as the top-most focus area. The Next Generation CHRO programme endeavors to expand the talent pool of CHROs in India by addressing such critical capability gaps”.

Vasanthi Srinivasan, Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management at IIM Bangalore, and Anandorup Ghose, Partner & Rewards Practice Leader, Aon Hewitt are the Course Directors of the programme.
